If you want to walk with us, you need to recognize our strength and power. … Before you use us as a talking point, please stop to speak face-to-face with an intersex person.

“Dear Pastor”
OtherWise Christian 2: Stories of Resistance

Rebecca’s chapter in OtherWise Christian 2 is a rather pointed admonishment to all of us about using intersex folk to further our agenda. Indeed, these beloved children of God must be more than just a talking point!
I am proud that we have 5 authors with intersex variations in this anthology– and will hopefully be compiling more stories in future volumes.
Rebecca’s chapter, “Dear Pastor,” will appear in OtherWise Christian 2: Stories of Resistance (March 2020) from OtherWise Engaged Publishing.

Rebecca Kerns holds degrees in English and Religious Studies from the University of Missouri. She is a mom, a wife, a teacher, a student, and an unrepentant loudmouth. Sundays may find her in a pew or on a trail, holding church among the squirrels and deer in flyover country.
