OtherWise Christian Ambassadors are transgender (or OtherWise) Christians who are available in your local area to share both OtherWise Christian: A Guidebook for Liberation and their own stories and testimonies. I believe that books are important, but our communities also need the opportunity to be in real-life community with folk who can tell their own stories.

A native New Yorker and a proud Trans Woman of Color, Debra Hopkins is a licensed non-denominational minister who has been actively involved in ministry through pastoral care, writing, and activism for over four decades. Last week I attended the Trans Wellness Conference in Philadelphia and was given a copy of an incredible book. After spending a few hours of down time reading the book. I came to the conclusion that, like a saber tooth tiger, “Otherwise Christian” has some real teeth. It allows the reader, hope, strength and encouragement. I can say that this book will definitely draw you in from the first few paragraphs to its end — and as a trans-person of faith it gives voice to the trans, queer and OtherWise community that we exist, have purpose and value and not freaks.

This authors wonderful insights of scripture-so many of us long since misunderstood-offers the reader a deeper commitment and reassessment of how we read, interpret and apply the great text, and perhaps inserts a real cleansing of ones soul.
